Promising Young Writers 2011
A Writing Contest for Eighth Graders

(Winners Announced 15 May 2011)

The NCTE Promising Young Writers Program emphasizes the importance of writing skills among eighth-grade writers.

Eligibility

Only students enrolled in the eighth grade in the academic year 2010-2011 may be nominated for 2011 awards.

A current official nomination blank for each nominee must be submitted to NCTE, postmarked no later than 10 February 2011.

NCTE provides the nomination form and details the role the eighth-grade teacher plays in submitting the appropriate writing in the Promising Young Writers Brochure found at http://www.ncte.org/awards/student/pyw/
