Writing Achievement Awards in Writing 2009
A Writing Contest for Eleventh Graders

(Winners Announced in May 2010)

Nomination Deadline: 02 February 2009

To encourage high school students in their writing and to recognize publicly some of the best student writers in the nation, the National Council of Teachers of English will give achievement awards in writing to students nominated and cited as excellent writers by judges. Nominees must be students who will graduate from high school in 2010.

Eligibility

Only students who are JUNIORS in the academic year 2009-2009 may be nominated for 2009 awards; they must be candidates for high school graduation in 2010.

A current official nomination blank for each nominee must be submitted to NCTE, postmarked no later than 02 February 2009.
